This is the page for signing up for upcoming trips with CKC. You must be a member to join these trips. Sign-up here is your request to go on this trip, you will need to be accepted by the group leader before you are confirmed. Typically trips will have a planning and logistics meeting beforehand to work out the details of kit, transportation and the float plan.

Detail of Trip

The weekend sees us spending the weekend exploring the idyllic southern Devon coastline around Salcombe, Dartmouth and Torquay. The area around Salcombe is known as the Riveria, reflecting it’s attractive location and usually pleasant climate.

This is a weekend camping trip: we will setup camp on Friday night after travelling down to Devon, then paddle on Saturday and Sunday, returning to the campsite. There is an option to extend the trip to include Monday also. You need to have your own tent and camping kit ((eg tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment) to come on this trip.

Who is this trip for?

This is a perfect trip for paddlers with limited experience on the sea, looking to extend their skills and gain more sea experience in the company of others in a similar position. It is also a good trip for experienced paddlers to see some amazing coastline.

This trip is categorised as grade B, which means you need to have completed the Paddle UK (PUK) Explore Award and been on at least two CKC paddles in 2024 (including Thames paddles).

Costs

Costs for this trip will include:
– Camping (~£20 per person per night)
– Transport (eg train fares and/or contribution to fuel for CKC members transporting kayaks)
– Meals (including option pub dinner)
