In the interests of safety for all, membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who is able to swim 50m in light clothing.
There are two membership levels available the benefits of which are summarised in the following table:

Most people join as Full Members. Basic membership is really aimed at individuals who either live outside London and cannot regularly make the weekly Thames session and / or have their own boats and equipment.

Join online
To become a member of Chelsea Kayak Club and take advantage of the great benefits outlined above please complete the online form here. However, please first refer to the FAQs page before doing so.
The online form is the preferred method to use to become a member of the Club. However, membership forms for the 2011/12 year are available here.
The Club’s membership year runs to the end of February each year.
The fees for the 2011/12 membership year became due on the 1st March 2011 and are as follows:
- Full Membership costs £75 (£40 after the 1st September); or
- Basic Membership costs £25; plus
- BCU Capitation Fee of £2 if you are not an individual BCU member in your own right
Payments can either be made by debit or credit card (via PayPal – you do not need a PayPal account), via telephone or online banking, cheque (payable to Chelsea Kayak Club) or in person at one of the weekly sessions.
