Kew Bridge to Teddington Lock, return

We’ve been invited to join Meridian Canoe Club on a paddle from Kew Bridge to Teddington Lock and back on Sunday 10 Nov, meet at 9:30, briefing at 10:15 and OTW at 10.30am returning about 15:30.

This trip is approximately 10km each way/ 2 hours, with about an hour stop for a pub lunch before returning on the outgoing tide.

This trip is categorised as A and is suitable for paddlers with Discover and above qualifications. It will be a moderate pace as we have plenty of time to reach Teddington Lock before the tide turns. However, you do need to be confident that you are able to paddle a total of 20km in one day. If you have gone to Richmond Lock and back before, that is about half the distance we will travel. Paddlers should also be able to use a stern rudder to steer themselves appropriately.

As it will be November, it is likely to be cold so please also bring a flask with hot drink and drybag with spare clothes for use at the pub (or an extra large cag to put over BA) and a dry warm hat.

Note also that this is Remembrance Sunday.
