Coaching Awards

Please see British Canoeing Paddler pathway to identify the right development courses to support your paddling progression, and also to find links to current providers.

CKC is currently organising training for members – please see here

The new awards offer national accreditation by the BC, the UKCC (UK Coaching Certificate), and the National Qualifications Framework.

Accredited Prior Learning (APL)

The BC recognises that in some instances aspirant coaches will have prior experience that may enable them to enter the Coaching Awards programme at a higher level.   If you feel you have experience that can be accredited as prior experience refer to the APL for more information.

Coach Updates

BC coaching qualifications do not have an expiry date, so once you have gained an award, you will never “lose” that qualification. However as an active coach, you should:

  • Hold a current first aid certificate, of a level required by your qualifications
  • Be a comprehensive member of the BC
  • Have current and up to date knowledge on the latest best practices: in both safety and coaching elements.
