Thanks! It was a really lovely trip, that challenged each of us in different ways. We all had such fun paddling – for anyone who feels like organising an overseas trip it really is not as hard as it might seem. I hope this blog inspires some CKC members out there to do just that!

I’m sure Phil would be happy to help and advise anyone who is interested. I haven’t organised an overseas trip as such, but I did organise the Scilly Isles trip in October 2010, so would be happy to pass on any logistical pointers to anyone thinking of organising a multi-day trip.

Jac and I were gutted we weren’t there – particularly as I organised the trip! Still Sardinia looks amazing and we will definitely get there some day!

I’ll happily try it out on the river – once you get the hang of open boating it can be fun (Ssshh, I didn’t say that!) – but I will need a paddle with which to do so

Oh Pia!!

So sorry – me too, a few months ago in the same place. I parked on the other side of the road to where I usually park, and the residents’ parking there is till 2230 instead of 1830 so I got towed…

Horrible. Evil tow people at the end of the road – taking advantage!!

Really glad you guys had such a lovely paddle though!

It was a remindable evening. The dark, the rain, the wind and the fast running tide together with the beatiful views of all the lights over London – you can’t get it better.

It was worth the £265 I had to pay to get my car, which had been towed away, back.

I was with the Derek Hutchinson North Sea Crossing or 1975.
Am giving a talk on this event in Canada this coming December so have been researching it. I have to say that Dereks account does not tally with mine.
What are your plans vis a vis doing this crossing
